Classes
We encourage new students to come for two trial sessions before signing up for the term. Parents of our youngest dancers, who are only age 3, are welcome to join their child in the class for the first few sessions so that they feel settled with our studio setting and friendly, warm teachers. Class prices start at £6.50 per week with discounts for attending multiple styles and for siblings. For people attending 2 classes or more, you will receive a free uniform once a year.
All of our teachers are qualified, and between them our male and female team have a wealth of professional teaching and performing experience. Certain teachers hold specialist licence for providing education for musculoskeletal therapist training and rehabilitative medicine.
Our team will happily find the right class for you today!
Graded ballet, modern & tap
In these classes, children will follow the accredited ISTD syllabus in order to work towards their relevant graded examination certificate. Classes will combine free work and exam work initially to build up children’s strength and technique whilst maintaining enjoyment and nurturing a love of dance.
Graded classes start from age 5.
Boys Classes
Boys and men in dance have always been 50% of a successful partnership, be it Fonteyn and Nureyev or Rogers and Astaire. Year on year with the great support of parents, we add to our boys enrolment and classes. We are excited to have created a specific boys class for jumps, turns and partner work.
Musical Theatre
Our fun and lively Musical Theatre classes aim to help dancers work on strong performance, singing, acting and dance. These are non-graded classes, using West End and Broadway shows to inspire and create show stopping performances and confident, enthusiastic performers.
Performance Opportunities
In addition to our weekly classes, all children at our academy will have the chance to perform in many showcases, theatre workshops, public showcases in a variety of different locations.
Experiencing different performing environments is part of the shaping of a successful and strong performer, as well as a wonderful experience and memory to treasure.
Performance is developed through sound technical teaching from qualified professional teachers which is what ERDA prides ourselves on; creating confident, safe and vibrant dancers who value the training and wealth of experience we are able to give to them.
Developing students in dance and performing arts through theory and practice.
Catering for all types of dance engagement, from age 3 an introduction to the enjoyment of movement, to seniors who are taking a more serious career path with the opportunity to develop in both teaching and performing. This means they are taking at least 3 classes a week, which includes specific pointe work and en pointe safety classes whereby an increased knowledge of anatomy and the MSK system is of the upmost importance to safeguard the dancer’s joints and soft tissues culminating in reducing injuries. These dancers will then be ready to join the newly formed junior dance company in our wider network.
Adults Freestyle Ballroom Classes
Most people have seen Strictly Come Dancing and many have expressed an interest in learning this, but through lack of confidence or a partner have found it a barrier. We have created a freestyle ballroom class to build not just steps but the confidence to perform those steps in a nice, smooth flowing way. We are not promising Anton Du Beke but you will be able to move gracefully around the floor and impress friends and family on this great, calming activity.
